Lupe Izzo is a lifelong resident of East Lansing and attended Michigan State University. Lupe owned and operated the Rain Soft Water Treatment Systems Dealership of Lansing for over 20 years, which earned her the 1990 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the State of Michigan.
Lupe was the chairperson of the 2005-2006 Tri County United Way Campaign. She is actively involved and on boards with a variety of local charities including, Cristo Ray Community Center, The Greater Lansing Food Bank, MSU Food Bank, The Lansing Promise, and Holy Cross Services. One of her current projects is Coaches Vs Cancer, a national multi-year campaign with the American Cancer Society.
Lupe and Tom Izzo have raised funds for St. Vincent Home for Children and for the Coaches for Kids campaign, which built the pediatric emergency room at Sparrow Hospital. Both have also raised funds for their Regional Cancer Center.
They have created an Elite Basketball program at Michigan State University and have supported the University in various compacities. Their long-standing pull to the Lansing & Michigan State community has kept them there all these years.
Lupe and Tom have two children, a daughter Raquel, son-in-law Matthew and a son Steven.
